GasAware has been designed to sound an alarm when natural or propane gas is at 25% of its Lower Explosive Limit. This means the alarm will sound four times earlier than the point at which a gas may become combustible.
In GasAware the gas sensor is built-in to the alarm unit. GasAware uses a gas sensor to sample the air in the immediate area of the home where installed. If a specific level of natural gas or propane gas is detected at the gas sensor, the device sounds an 85 decibel alarm. GasAware also has a battery backup power system with built-in recharging technology. In case of an AC power loss, this system can operate on batteries for up to 8-hours.
